Salutation:

Greetings your Eminence and fellow 'Apifo'ou Family!

Admin Briefs

The focus for this week has been the ongoing preparation for the upcoming final exams for the Levels 1 - 5. Meanwhile the Level 6 successfully completed theirs today and we congratulate them for all the efforts put into their exams. The Form 7 students are wrapping up their final Assignments before they concentrate on their preparations for the end-of-Semester exams.

University of the South Pacific Graduation

The University of the South Pacific Tonga Campus held its annual Graduation today. It was a joyful day for the Apifo'ou Family as four of our staff members graduated! The Deputy Principal Curriculum, Ms. Laumanu Ma'afu, graduated with a Master in Education; Mr. Taniela Kapeta with a BA in Mathematics and Education; Mrs. Pisila 'Ulupano with a Bachelor of Science, and Ms. Seini Kaivelata with a BA in Agriculture.

This has been a key strategy from the outset to upgrade and upskill the teachers. We have about 10 teachers doing courses at USP and the Tonga National University.

F6 Final Exams

The Level 6 students wrapped up their final exams today and we thank them for their commitments to their study. They'll have a break before they prepare for the external exams. The students usually have their exams in their respective classrooms. However, when the numbers are huge especially the optional classes such as the Tonga Language and IT Computers, they move to the Options Block.

Our Lady of the Rosary

At this month of the Rosary the different Levels are allocated a day to lead the Rosaries. However, on October 7th, Feast of the Holy Rosary, the whole school was divided into three sections: Levels 1 - 3 to pray the Rosary at the Shrine of our Lady at the St. Mary's Campus; Levels 5 & TVET at the statue of our Lady in front of the Hall; Levels 4 & 7 at the statue of Our Lady in front of the Admin Block.

It's really wonderful to witness the spirit of devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary among our students through praying her Rosary.

There junior girls garlanded the Blessed Virgin Mary on the Feast of the Rosary!

Ferguson Education & Training

Mr. Ian Ferguson visited the college to talk to the students about the opportunities offered by the organization to study in New Zealand and Australia. We're always grateful when opportunities open up for the students as possible career paths.

Laudato Si!

As seen here below, this week the junior students at the St. Mary's campus continued with their planting trees to mark Laudato Si Day at the college.

Conclusion

Please accept our profound gratitude for all the support and prayers rendered to the college. Just for your information, the annual Prize Giving of the college will be on Friday the 22nd of November. You're most welcome to donate in cash or kind for the last event of the year. Let's continue to pray for each other through the Rosary and commend ourselves to the powerful intercession of our Blessed Mother.

Viva AFC!
