Salutation:
Greetings your Eminence and fellow 'Apifo'ou Family!
Admin Briefs
The focus in this 7th week of Term 3 was the 3rd Common Paper Assessments for all Levels. Common Test 2 began on August 21 and will conclude on August 28. Meanwhile, our Under-17 Rugby Team's tour of NZ concludes its Christchurch leg today and are now on their way back to Auckland where they will play a few more games. The following snapshots were taken during Assessment 3 Common Test 2.
Pacific Islands Forum Meeting
As part of preparation for the meeting here in Tonga of leaders of the various Pacific island nations (aka Pacific Islands Forum), the college had to do its part by cleaning up its campuses and surroundings. These photos are from that clean-up.
As seen below, the college was tasked with welcoming the Fijian Prime Minister, Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka, to Tonga at the Fua'amotu International Airport. Our college brass band and some of our dancing girls were there to welcome Mr. Rabuka in style!
Form 7 Parents' Meeting
We were privileged to host the parents of our Form 7 students at the college last Friday. This meeting with the parents was mainly to inform them on the progress of those in Form 7 throughout the first Semester which was facilitated by the two coordinators of Form 7, namely Ms. Mele Leakona and Dr. Leonaitasi Hoponoa.
Conclusion
May I on behalf of all of us here at 'Apifo'ou convey to our entire 'Apifo'ou family, both here and abroad, our unceasing gratitude for your unfailing support and prayers for the college. Please continue to pray for our students as they embark on their exams without forgetting our Under-17 Rugby Touring Party who are still in New Zealand.
Viva AFC!
Ms. Laumanu Ma'afu (Deputy Principal)
