College Updates: Weeks 5-6, Term 4

Greetings Your Eminence and Fellow AFC Family!

Internal & external exams:

It's that time of the year again when the teachers step aside and allow the students to run on to the field as in rugby or any other sports for that matter! We have done what we could possibly do from January to the end of October. Now it's the moment of truth, as it were, for our students, especially the Forms 5's, 6's, & 7, as they sit their respective external exams. These exams are pivotal for their career-paths and we can only hope for the best for each and every single one of them.

For us teachers, these two weeks until the results come out before the year ends, or the beginning of the new year, would be pressure times! it would be like a heavy cloud hovering over our heads! Simultaneously, there are feelings of relief and even a sense of fulfillment for we have given it our all.

There are three venues where our senior students sit their exams. The Forms 5's have theirs at our college Hall. The Form 6's join a few schools at the Tailulu Hall. The third one is at the Tonga Ta'eapa Church Hall where all the 'measles-infected' students are mandated to sit their exams since the Ministry of Health has recommended that they be isolated for fear of spreading the virus.

School Concert:

Currently, the Forms 1's to 4's are practising and preparing items for the school's concert on the 21st of this month. We repeat what we started last year, shifting from traditional fund raising drives such as kalapu kavatonga which seem to have overburdened our teachers. The concert is to raise funds for the annual Prize-Giving at the end of the month.

Nota bene: should you wish to sponsor prizes, trophies, etc., please feel free to contact me or anyone at the college.

Finally, please continue to pray for our students who are now sitting their exams.

Viva AFC!
