Salutation:
Greetings your Eminence and fellow AFC Family!
Admin Briefs:
~ This is the penultimate week before we wrap up Term 1 next week.
~ Currently, the students are sitting our 1st Assessment for the Term. Photo 056 shows Form 1M focusing on their exams under the watchful supervision by Mr. Pila Afeaki.
~ Today marks the end of the Practicum by Teachers' Trainees from Tupou Tertiary Institute and Teachers Training College. Seen in photo 169 the interns posing for a souvenir photo in front of our Lady's Shrine. Even though they were here for only a couple of weeks they've expressed their thorough enjoyment of their time at Apifo'ou.

ID for all students:
A milestone during Mass as we blessed and distributed the ID for all the students. Photo 131 showed the smiles on the students' faces as they don their new ID which has the logo, their own photo, Level, Expiry date, and signed by the Principal. The ID has been laminated so it can stand all weather!

This is indeed a milestone as it adds uniformity and pride to our school's uniform.
St. Joseph's Solar Light:
For a while now, St. Joseph has been complaining to me as it deems unfair that Mary & Peter Chanel are well illuminated by the spotlights from the Hall and Admin Block. Poor St. Joseph endures the dark spot in front of our house!
Well, that is history now because St. Joseph is smiling in the evening as the solar light glows! Photo 075 shows off the newly installed solar slight. Our heartfelt gratitude to Sione Tausings, 'Ofa Takai and crew from MEIDECC for donating this wonderful and early Easter gift to the college!

Athletic Squad:
The athletic squad are in high morale after a good outing against the Takuilau athletes. The two colleges had a combined trial time sports last Saturday at Teufaiva Stadium. It was a wonderful opportunity for both Squads to gauge their progress so far.
The last few days have been raining so the training was shifted inside to the Hall (photo 098). That also gave the Principal the ideal opportunities to lead the Zumba exercises. Photo 109 showed the zumba session at 5 AM this morning!

The Principal is sounding out also a challenge to the teachers to come and join the morning Zumba sessions in order to keep fit and healthy!
Conclusion:
We join the Diocese in congratulating the SMSM Sisters as they celebrated their 150th Anniversary of their mission here in Tonga. We remember with reverence and love the many SMSM Nuns who toiled and journeyed alongside the Marist Fathers, thus paving the way for Apifo'ou to become a proud institution today.
May I wish one and all a Blessed Holy Week as we prepare for Palm Sunday! Just to inform you, that I'll join the Letio 'Apifo'ou Team: Fr. Mika, Fr. Steven, and Ngutau, on the trip to 'Eua tomorrow to livestream the Palm Sunday Mass from there. It'll be an opportunity to meet up with the ex-students there.
And also to breathe some pristine and fresh air from the mountainous terrain of Eua!
Viva AFC!
