Greetings Your Eminence and 'Apifo'ou Family!
The construction works are ongoing as the final touches are being applied. Most of what is left now are reserved to experts in various fields such as the Tiling and Painting. We're very fortunate that a few ex-students still respond to the call from the college to help out. Mr. Samiu 'Ekuasi from the Nuku'alofa parish and a seasoned carpenter is leading a few helpers to complete the construction works. The footpath for the new buildings are done by the Hihifo parish led by Fr. Taniela 'Enosi and the Pulengaue, Ma'ake Mafi.
The paintings are done by the Pulengaue from Halaleva, Mr. Kalolo Tupola and his boys. The Tiling of the 4 classrooms is led by a classmate of mine here at 'Apifo'ou, Mr. Silivesiteli 'Aloua from Longolongo. These experts are assisted by our TVET people. Apparently we're not able to complete the works as planned for Monday but they're using an 'All Hands on Deck' approach. In fact we've worked through the nights and even began at 12 AM Monday morning till daylight and continue throughout the day and night! It is envisaged that the 4 classrooms will be completed by Wednesday tomorrow.
We're eternally grateful for all the support and prayers.
The college started the new academic year yesterday. The students are excited and can't wait to enter their new classrooms!
Viva AFC!
