Salutation:
Advent Greetings your Eminence and fellow Apifo'ou Family!
Admin Briefs
Finally, we completed the harvest of the college cassava on Tuesday! What a massive relief to everyone. But it was yesterday that the teachers were looking forward to. Indeed, Santa Claus visited Apifo'ou early!
Mr. Minoru Nishi jr, the Manager of the Nishi Trading Co, did the honors yesterday in presenting the Christmas gifts to the teachers and helpers. As you can see above, the amount we got for the harvest was in excess of $22,000 Pa'anga and thus the gift for each teacher was $500 and $300 to all the students and ex-students who helped out with the college's plantation throughout the year. The consecutive series of photos below are from the presentation of these gifts and the smile says it all!
New Brass Band Instruments
This week the long awaited brass band instruments from the United States finally arrived! it's with a grateful heart that we say 'Malo 'aupito e 'ofa Lahi' to the President, Francis Kolo, Rodney Halapio, Nunu Huhane, Sakopo Finau, 'Anau Pulu and other Executive members who have kindly donated these instruments to the college.
The fillings of the box: food stuff, clothes, bedding, etc. will be very useful to our Boarding students next year!
St. Mary's Renovation
The renovation work at St. Mary's Level 1 Block is progressing well. They've completed the corridors and are now installing new doors with security iron doors. Malo!
Special Visitors!
It's always a joy to meet up with ex-students who are visiting the country. We met up with Rodney and Tu'ilokamana Halapio as they were here to attend the Ma'ufanga Parish celebrations of the renovation works done to the Cathedral.
Seen below is Fr. Lutoviko Manu sm, a Council member of the Oceania Province of the Marist Fathers who is visiting the country for a short break.
Conclusion
Thank you very much once again for your continuous prayers and support for our beloved college! This marks my last update from 'Apifo'ou as Principal. I sign off here until the college returns for the academic year 2025 with Fr. Valu Siua at the helm.
May I wish you all in advance a Joyous Christmas and a most Blessed New Year!
VIVA AFC!
