Week 10: 31st March - 4th April TERM 1

Highlights

• Our condolences to the Marist Fathers for the loss of their brother Fr. 'Isileli Lino sm. He was a teacher at 'Api Fo'ou around 2008 - 2010 and was about to work with the school this year but was appointed to help the parish priest of Longoteme. He was one of the biggest supporters for our athletes and all our sports teams during the years he was at 'Api Fo'ou's Priest House. His death is a great loss, but he is with our Heavenly Father, we pray that His grace may be with Fr. Lino's family and the Marist Priest during this time.

• Tsunami Warning to all of Tonga. We all woke up to the earthquake and the siren sound of warning that stand within our school ground on Monday morning 1:30am. Luck was again at our side for there was no harm or waves that rose, it was cancelled at 5:00am. The school still continue but with little number of students shows up, it was a half day, and the test was delayed to Tuesday.

• Common Test still ongoing this week and finishes on Thursday.

• Digicel visits and required a cheer from 'Api Fo'ou and the school answered with quite the spirit.

• TCC visit also and a powerful cheer was recorded. (This cheer is on Facebook and if you have the time, your vote is like and share 'Api Fo'ou Cheers!)

  • I would like to acknowledge and extend a Thank you to one of our ex-students JBOI (Sosefo Fe'ao) and not forgetting the young lady and the young man who accompanied you, they have been the main contributors providing new songs and instrumentalize most of our cheering songs for the sports, and also the main DJ behind our cheers for both Digicel and TCC. They will also be with us in our tents during the sports week cheering on our champions in the field.

• Final preparations from our Sports team, and ready for the Intercollege Sports.

• Thank you and may you all be blessed, to the doners for our school sports team we received offers from cash to food from these doners we thank you with much appreciation, Ma'ufanga Parish, Nuku'alofa Parish and gift from Masaso Paunga Jr. who is one of our sport's students. Lastly donations made from Wilco Company a variety of goods offered; representatives were some of our very own exstudent Mr. Poli Leger. Thank you.

• Our visitors from TNU teacher's training 6 young ladies, finished with us this week with a signature of good food and a warm thank you from them. We wish you all the best for the future and hopefully some of you may return and work with us at 'Api Fo'ou.

• Lastly, the school held a Mass on Friday in celebrating of Fr. 'Isileli Lino's life while he was with us. (short video of Fr. Valu's homily) After Mass our school represent by Mr. Haukinima Headmaster and Mr. Tuiaki one of the Deputy Principal present the school offer to Fr. Valu Siua sm the current Sector Leader for Marist Tonga.
